In music- high culture is much cheaper than low culture now
Pay more and become retarded or pay less and become blessed
“You are what you eat” as in your physical body- but its the same for your mind and for your soul-
“Food for thought” if you feed your mind junk food(low culture) your mind will become sick, slow and dulled.
I’ve written here many times before about how all bum’s/junkies/tweakers in California only listen to low culture music- prob %80 rap / %20 electronic/rock-
I’ve also written about how gas stations/convenience stores etc in the states play classical music and opera to keep those bum’s/junkies/tweakers away from their places of business.
It seems to me that low culture music(pop music, rap music etc) dulls the mind and soul and drags the body/mind/soul into regressive spaces of decay- moral decay- spiritual decay- financial decay- etc
I believe high culture music elevates the soul and stimulates the mind- raises you up instead of dragging you down- high culture works of art challenge you and bring you up-
Low culture music keeps you in place and/or drags you down with its simplistic/limited/repetitive/retarded nature.
Anyhow- I’ve discussed that a lot here already-
This post is about cost- growing up I was not exposed to much “high culture” music at all- it wasn’t until I became an adult where I sought it out as something higher or better compared to the shitty music that was played in my neighborhood growing up.
I also had it in my head that the high culture music- classical/opera etc was more expensive to attend etc compared to the low culture concerts etc-
I just did a little chatGPT search query about concert ticket prices on average between classical concerts vs. pop music/rap music in the U.S.
I’ve been going to classical concerts and plays in the UK/Europe the past few years and the ticket prices have been very reasonable- maybe an average of 30-40 Euros per ticket.
So anyway- I did a search for the rough/average prices in the U.S.
🎤 Pop Concerts (Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish)
Taylor Swift:
Average ticket price: approximately $204.
Resale prices can be significantly higher, with some tickets exceeding $1,000. Wikipédia, l'encyclopédie libre+7Business Insider+7SeatPick+7
Billie Eilish:
Average ticket price: around $673.
Some fans reported paying over $200 for general admission tickets.
🎤 Rap Concerts (Drake, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar)
Drake:
Average ticket price: approximately $734. SeatPick
Prices can vary significantly depending on the venue and seating.
Travis Scott:
Average ticket price: around $284. SeatPick
Prices fluctuate based on city and seat location.
Kendrick Lamar:
Average ticket price: approximately $206.47.
VS.
🎻 Classical Concerts
General Average:
Average ticket price: approximately $105. SeatGeek
Specific Examples:
Chicago Symphony Orchestra: average ticket price around $80. Stanford Economic Review
Itzhak Perlman performances: tickets starting at $63.
I’ve had some family/friends recently attend popular pop/rap music concerts this year and when they told me how much the tickets cost I was shocked at how expensive they were- again compared to the classical concerts I’ve been attending.
So the takeaway is:
Listen to/immerse yourself in high culture music and save money- use that money saved to invest in yourself or literally invest. Profit later. *You can’t profit now with this on social media because you gain no “clout” by seeing Mozart’s requiem in D minor. There’s no instant gratification so most slaves to devices/social media won’t do this
The unenlightened listen to/immerse themselves in low culture music to spend more actual money now because they “profit” in the form of “clout” by posting on social media about their attendance to low culture/popular events. *They waste their actual money so no investing there and they dull their mind/spirit. BUT they get instant gratification in the form of likes/faves/comments/clout so most will choose this.
If you haven’t noticed the world is upside down- so the time is right for you to play Mozart on your bluetooth speaker/in your car etc- its better for you and its better for everyone else.

Recently I was in London in my wife and we we’re on our way to see the play “The Score” about Bach(great play btw)- we were late so we took one of those pedicab’s that plays loud music- they usually play 2-pac or Abba or Drake or whatever-
When we got in the pedi-cab the driver asked me…
Driver: Sir, do you like Abba
Me: No, I like Mozart
He messed with his phone for a second then handed it to me- he had the Spotify search window open with only an “M” typed in- I guess he couldn’t spell Mozart? But anyway I searched for and found Mozart’s requiem in D minor and he begun to play that-
From what I’ve seen people usually ignore the loud music those pedicab’s play because its the same loud music people play everywhere- in their car’s, on bluetooth speakers, in stores, on TV etc
What was strange was as he drove us around- some people we’re stopping to look at the pedicab playing Mozart and staring- like their brain’s were being shorted out- “this is not outside music?! AHHHHHHH”
It was funny so my wife and I were laughing and the driver seemed self conscious as people were staring at his pedicab like never before I imagine-
As we got closer to the theater which was across the street from where the Phantom of the Opera plays several people were smiling, waving, making videos, and giving thumbs ups- is that strange?
I imagine these were some high culture folks that appreciate fine music being played out in the cultural cesspool that most western big cities have become-
So anyway-
Good topic!
I like to recommend the Romantics to people trying to learn to like classical music. It’s more emotional and if you like movie soundtracks, a lot of them are plagiarized from Wagner & co.
I also think those midwit playlists with names like “Mozart & Chill” have a role. If I wanted to hook someone on opera, I’d give them a CD of Pavarotti singing cool arias, etc.
Also classical sounds so much better on vinyl and is so cheap in record stores!
That mozart was nice. Recommend some more classical music?
